This week, we explored how both Abraham and David show us that faith—not works—makes us right with God. It's not about what we've done, but about who we trust. Abraham believed, and it was credited to him as righteousness—before he did anything religious. David, after great sin, still found grace through faith. God doesn’t justify us because we’re strong, perfect, or have it all together. He justifies us when we trust Him to do what we cannot.
✝️ Faith isn’t something we earn—it’s trusting God to be who He says He is.
✝️ Grace is getting what we don’t deserve.
✝️ Faith leads to belonging—we become God's people not by behavior, but by belief.
Main argument: Faith is credited as righteousness.
Supporting argument: Abraham was justified before circumcision.
Supporting argument: Abraham was justified before there was the mosaic law.
Supporting argument: Abraham was the father of many nations.
Trusting God isn't about how much the promise makes sense to you, it's about who made the promise.
Paul's conclusion: We should have faith like Abraham, because righteousness will be credited to us too.
Whether you feel like Abraham (at the beginning, waiting) or David (in the aftermath of failure), the answer is the same: trust God.
💬 Gospel Response: Faith may not always make sense—but it always leads to hope, belonging, and life in Christ.
